The gilding cream is a pasty material based on wax and metal powders. It adheres perfectly to almost all substrates.
It can be applied with a brush or with a rag or with your fingers.
Different types of color can be mixed to achieve the desired shade.
When the surface is dry it can be polished by wiping with a soft cloth.
The gilding cream can be diluted with a solvent (such as turpentine). After use, it is advisable to close the bottle or jar well to prevent the material from drying out.
The gilding cream is used above all for the retouching of the gilded and silver frames since, being pasty, it can fill the gap that sometimes appears in the corner of the frame.
It can also be used for quick gilding of frames or objects of little value.
