Glass colours are part of the IDEA line which includes a number of colours and items for hobby manufactured by Maimeri.
The entire set is made of 27 colours plus a thinner. These colours are used for painting glass, plexiglass and acetate.
Colours are ready for use but, if desired, can be diluted with a small quantity of thinner. The thinner is used mostly to clean the brushes.
All colours, which are mixable, have a bright and transparent tonality.
A specific resin contained in the colours helps to obtain even coats of colour so that the strokes of the brush are not visible.
It is important to paint only glass that is completely clean and not greasy. It is also important not to place the decorated objects in dusty areas when they are drying up otherwise the colours will dust.
It is always better to clean the decorated objects by hand. Do not place them in a dish-washing machine. While glass colours are non-toxic it is always better not to use them on glass and containers for food.
All colours are available in 60 ml bottles equipped with a dosage cap.

The Maimeri IDEA line includes also an important accessory: the glass relief colours. The set is made of 12 metal tonalities which imitate the lead used to joint pieces of coloured glass in the antique technique for stained-glass windows. They are also used to reproduce the Tiffany technique for stained glass.
The glass relief colours are available in 20 ml tubes equipped with a dosage cup. The colours are water-based and do not contain lead. They are ready for use and must not be diluted.
The glass relief colours are very useful for tracing the decoration that will be painted. In fact they stem the transparent colours which will be applied on the glass and stop them from dripping. The glass relief colours must be completely dry before applying the transparent colours.
