  • Wood stains are water-based dyes.
    They are used to uniformly dye the wood ensuring widespread and consistent penetration into the wood pulp adjacent to the surface.
    They dry quickly to a matte finish.
    Stains are very useful for retouching frames, especially frames that have a walnut-like tone.
    However, they can also be used for painting raw wooden frames. In this case they allow you to glimpse the grain of the wood.
